Brazilian manufacturers of auto parts for light, heavy and commercial vehicles, visited Johannesburg during May to gain a better understanding of the South African market and meet with potential business partners. With a fleet of approximately 45 million vehicles and 31 car manufacturers, Brazil is ranked as one of the world’s largest vehicle producers and consumer markets. This makes Brazil a hub of complete auto parts and components suppliers – to the OEM and aftermarket industry. In 2018, Brazil exported spare parts to 203 countries around the world. This mission was initiated and organised by Sindipeças and Apex-Brasil.
16 of Brazil’s leading agricultural equipment manufacturers exhibited at NAMPO 2019 on the pavilion of Brazil Machinery Solutions, the result of a partnership between the Brazilian Machinery Builder’s Association (ABIMAQ) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). The companies met with end users, importers, distributors, cooperatives and partners from South Africa and other Southern African countries. A wide variety of products were showcased, from agricultural implements, to pumps and cleaning equipment, dairy equipment, grain storage, amongst others.
Brazilian delegation participation at African Utility Week 2019 is expected to generate more than $5-million in business.
Supported by Apex-Brasil (The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) in partnership with Abinee (Brazilian Association of the Electrical and Electronics Industry), the international fair generated business of US$880-thousand, and US$5.3-million is expected for the next 12 months.
The synergy between Abinee, Apex-Brasil and the Consulate General of Brazil in Cape Town enabled networking through meetings and seminars with the distinguished participation of the Consul-General of Brazil in Cape Town, Mrs. Carmen Ribeiro Moura and a team specialized in strategic and relevant topics for Brazilian exhibitors at the fair.

Apex-Brasil hosts a group of buyers from the Sub-Saharan African region at The APAS SHOW, May 2019, in São Paulo, Brazil. Acknowledged as the largest supermarket trade show in the world and the most important Food & Beverage trade show in Latin America, the APAS SHOW showcases food, beverages, personal hygiene, cleaning products, equipment and supermarket technology from Brazil and beyond.
The Buyers had the opportunity of meeting with Brazilian producers of food and beverage related products during the International Business Rounds at the show, experience live cooking demonstrations and sample products at the stands. Countries represented by the group of Buyers included Ghana, Mauritius, Nigeria and South Africa.

The presentation’s objective was to introduce the audience to Apex-Brasil’s scope of operations and activities, export promotion and qualification, intelligence monitoring and policy advocacy, investment attraction and internationalisation. Furthermore, it provided insights into the Brazilian Agricultural Industry, as well as statistical information on the commercial relations between Senegal and Brazil.

Brazil Sensational Experience: During the 2010 FIFA Football World Cup™ ITP assisted the Brazilian Government with a country branding and trade promotion event called the “Brazil Sensational Experience” in view of Brazil hosting the 2014 FIFA Football World Cup TM. This event took place over the course of a month in Johannesburg, South Africa, and entailed various individual events as well as day-to-day event management. The Brazilian partners included EMBRATUR (The Brazilian Tourist Board), Apex-Brasil (The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), The Ministry of Sport and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
US-Sub Saharan African Agricultural Trade Mission: ITP organised B2B meetings for a leading group of American agro-industry exporters led by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), in conjunction with the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and the US Embassy in Pretoria. The meetings were held in Johannesburg with Sub Saharan African and South African counterparts.

ITP was involved in various aspects of GE Day in Johannesburg in February 2009 including exhibition and event management, and branding.
